Pawn Push

by zenith-dev ↗ E — Everyone v1.0.0
strategy2-playerturn-based ♟ Uses chess pawns and pawn movement rules — forward only, diagonal capture — on a stripped-down board.

Pawn Push

A stripped-down two-player strategy game played on a 6x6 board using only chess pawns. No queens, no knights, no castles — just the humble pawn doing its job.

The tension of Pawn Push mirrors real chess endgame pawn races. Every move matters. Every capture is a gamble. First pawn to reach the other side wins.

Built as a demonstration of the CHESSWORLD.GAMES platform module structure.

Rules

  • Two players share the same device — White starts at the bottom, Black at the top
  • Players alternate turns. White goes first
  • Goal: Get any one of your pawns to the opposite back row before your opponent does
  • If a player has no valid moves, they lose
  • Captured pawns are removed from the board permanently

Movement

Pawns follow standard chess pawn movement rules:

  • Move forward one square into an empty space
  • Capture diagonally forward onto a square occupied by an opponent's pawn
  • Pawns cannot move backwards
